Work Titles
. All of the titles are affirmations that I nabbed from Cafe Gratitude and the drinks/food that are served there. They name all of their items after affirmations such as "I am Grace," "I am Beautiful," etc... and that is the way that you have to order them. You can't just say "I'll take a grace." When you order it saying, "I am Beautiful," you feel as though you are. When you order is ready, the server gives you the order saying, "You are Beautiful." It is a round-about to make yourself feel good. Repeat something enough times and you'll start to believe it as truth. I just thought that it would be fun and creative to title work based on affirmations. Not only does it make me feel good about what I have done, but it is also a compliment to the people that I photograph. So that is my story, more to come soon.Newest

| I fell in love with deviantART when my friend Kyle was dressing up some of his photos and posted them on the site. I was curious as to how the site worked and most of all, the art that people were posting. I think that it is a wonderful space to put up a portfolio, hence my joining. I have been doing photography since my sophomore year in high school. I originally worked with film (which to this day is still my favorite form of photography), taking pictures of anything and everything, developing the film and making the prints myself. I loved the freedom that was involved. I haven't done any film shoots since I graduated high school, mainly because I loved doing the development on my own, rather than someone doing the dirty work for me. I have started to work with digital, but I'm still trying to grasp the editing aspect of it. I am currently self-taught and I know that there are so many things that I can do to an image, I just don't know how to do them. Which is why I finally (after almost 2 years) declared a major in photography. I am looking forward to taking all of the classes necessary to further my skills as a photographer. I love taking pictures of people. Most of my work has been focused on head shots and senior pictures for my friends and family. Something that I would love to be more involved in is the editorial, fashion side of photography. I would love to dress someone up (or down, that would be fun too), do their hair all funky and load their faces up with makeup. |
